The toggle is the part you touch, so it's the part we machined. A diamond-cut linear knurl, cut into solid metal, gives a clean click and a grip you can feel in the dark. Choose the detail kit to set the mood: black and gold light switches for warmth against a dark plate, silver for a cooler, workshop look, or all-black toggle switches for something that almost disappears. The kit — toggle arm, nut and caps — is included, not an add-on, and the same three finishes run across every black switch and socket in the range so your gold toggle by the door matches the socket detail by the bed.
Solid brass darkens. It picks up fingerprints, goes dull at the edges and, a few years in, needs pulling off the wall to polish. Our Brushed range is solid lacquered steel with a brushed brass finish: the lacquer seals the surface, so the colour you install is the colour you keep. No patina, no polish, no green edges around the toggle. Wipe it with a soft cloth and leave it. It is the same reason we never use brass polish or abrasives on it — there is nothing to bring back, because nothing has gone
The plates are solid metal. Not a metal-look moulding, not a plated skin over plastic. You feel that before you read a single line of copy: the weight in the box, the cool face flat to the wall, the 24.4 mm it stands proud of the surface.
The toggle is diamond-cut and knurled. Grip under the thumb, a defined edge, not a smooth plastic nub. The detail kit that ships with it (toggle arm, nut, caps) is finished to match the plate, so nothing on the front breaks the line.
